Dummy Text Generator

Scrambled Latin taken from "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum", a work by Cicero from 45 BC. Typesetters have used it as filler since the 1500s because it has the rhythm and letter mix of real text without being readable, so people look at the layout instead of the words.

When the design will be shown in English and you want realistic word lengths, letter shapes and line breaks, or when the people reviewing a mockup might be distracted by Latin. The words are random, so the text still won't pull attention away from the design.

The text is cut to exactly the number of characters you ask for, spaces included. That makes it handy for testing fields and layouts against limits like a 60-character page title or a 160-character meta description.

It wraps each paragraph in <p> tags, so you can paste it straight into a template or a CMS that accepts HTML.

No. It's generated entirely in your browser, and nothing you choose is sent anywhere.
